5 Winter Activities To Get You Out Of The House

If you are lucky enough to call Tucson home, then you are well aware of the complex desert ecosystem and its great diversity in geological structures, plants and animal life. With all its unique natural beauty aside, there are also many adventures to be had inside and out in the winter months. Tucson receives 350 days of sunshine each year, but it’s so much more than a warm-weather heaven.  From great musical attractions to unbeatable culinary fare, there are some fascinating adventures to do in and around this Arizona city. Here are a few of our favorites!

1.  Mexican Mondays at Catalina Brewing Company

Eat, eat, and eat some more! Sampling the cuisine – especially the delicious authentic Mexican cuisine – is one of our favorite things in Tucson.  Mecican Mondays at Catelina Brewing are every Monday in January, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. This gem is located at 6918 N Camino Martin #120 in Tucson.

2.  Tucson Starr Pass Golf

With all these annual days of sunshine, it probably comes as no surprise that this area is a golfer’s paradise. There are more than 40 golf courses in Tucson, making it one of the most popular things to do all year long.  Sharpen your game by playing a round on all three of the Star Pass nine-hole golf courses. Tee off with red-tinged Arizona desert scenery and looming mountains in the background at the Starr Pass Golf Club, situated only steps away from Stargate West properties.

3.  Colossal Cave Mountain Park

If a climbing adventure is what you are seeking, head underground for a unique experience at one of Arizona’s underground cave parks.  The Colassal Cave Mountain Park is located 15 minutes east of Tucson and is open daily from 8am to 4pm. If an overnight adventure is what you had in mind, you can spend the night under the stars at the Colossal Cave Campground.

4.  Gem and Jam Festival

For those seeking a musical and visual journey into the soul, look no further than this 3-day festival that celebrates the art and ethos of the Gem and Mineral community along with entertainment and visual arts.  This annual festival is held each year during the world-renowned Tucson Gem, Mineral and Fossil Showcase making this special weekend each year the perfect pairing in music and art. Over 55,000 people travel to Tucson, Arizona from all around the world during the 3-day event.
